Welcome to the personal portfolio of Denielle Lincoln. I am a graphic designer working and teaching in Raleigh, NC. I have a duel position at Peace College as both a graphic designer and an Assistant Professor in the Graphic Design Department. I teach courses in graphic design, illustration/imaging, typography, design for the screen, and various graphic design labs. I strive to instill in my students a passion for design, a love for typography, and a drive to use their skills to create positive change. I currently serve on the Raleigh AIGA board (The Professional Association for Design) as the Education Chair. I have also participated in numerous educational seminars and conferences concerning design in relation to culture, cognition and technology.
WORK HISTORY
In May 2005 I began working as a web and graphic designer in the Communications division of Peace College, a private four year liberal arts college for women. I work directly for the Vice President of Marketing & College Relations and with the Director of Communications in developing such projects as the Peace Magazine, Peace College website, annual publications, ads, and other miscellaneous printed materials for the College. I started teaching at Peace College in August 2004 and currently teach upper level students within an intimate hands-on studio environment. Classes include: Imaging, Type 2, Web Design, Graphic Design studios and labs.
From June 2004 to December 2005 I worked as a full-time contractor in the Communications & Information Division of DPI designing a wide range of print collateral including small books, posters, brochures, cd’s, conference packets and public displays. I worked as Head Teaching Assistant at the NC State Summer Design Camp during the summer of 2003 and 2004. From February 2003 through 2005 I worked in a freelance capacity at Trailblazer Studios on a variety of trans-media campaigns where print, motion, and web components had to work in tandem with one another. I was lead designer at Johnsound Productions from August 2000 to February 2003, working from conception to execution on musician’s CD’s and promotional materials. In September 1999 I worked as an intern at Hi Frequency Marketing Inc., a company that develops and executes campaigns for record labels, film companies, video game creators, and consumer product companies.
